Sergent Construction was founded in 2005 by Josh Sergent. Josh began his career in construction at the age of 16 working for his father Ken Sergent. Josh honed his skills while working with several well respected construction companies such as: Machado Construction, TRC Construction, TAK Construction, and finally Good & Roberts General Contractor. Striving to be in business for himself, Josh acquired his General Contractors license on January 1, 2005 at the age of 27.
In an effort to expand his business Josh took on Ryan Shanahan as a business partner. Josh believed that Ryan’s success in sales, customer service and general business management dove-tailed perfectly with Sergent Construction’s future. Ryan’s career began in 1998 at Marriott International, where for 10 years he held various Management positions including Sales Manager, Operations Manager, and Assistant General Manager. During the last 3 years of his tenure with Marriott, Ryan worked with Josh at night and on weekends remodeling homes and businesses throughout San Diego.
